Maria Lujan

Born and raised in Madrid, Spain, María Luján began dancing at a young age at the Pilar López Local Dance Academy, training in Ballet and Contemporary dance. Her journey led her to rediscover Spanish dance under Raquel Gómez’s mentorship—a turning point that became her lifeline and passion.

She went on to specialize in the classical Spanish dance styles, furthering her Flamenco training at the Amor de Dios Flamenco Studios in Madrid with renowned artists, and studying Folklore with the professional company Ibérica de Danza. While in Spain, she performed across the country at festivals, competitions, concerts, operas, and cultural events.

In 2023, María joined Ensemble Español, where she now dances professionally and teaches Spanish dance to youth in over 10 public schools, intensive programs, and the Ensemble Español Youth Company. As an instructor, she hopes to pass on the rich diversity, strength, and passion of Spanish dance to the next generation.
